About ICC

International China Concern is a Hong Kong based charitable organization established in 1994 to support the Chinese Government in their care of the socially disadvantaged. Incorporated as a Hong Kong charitable institution in 1996, ICC acts as a bridge between China and overseas organizations and individuals, channelling finances and people resources into joint venture projects.

International China Concern's aim is, through working alongside various Chinese government departments, to upgrade and establish new social welfare avenues, providing management expertise, funding and training.

Currently, International China Concern has representative offices in the following countries: Hong Kong, Australia, USA, Canada, Malaysia, Switzerland and Holland. Each of these offices represents the work of International China Concern, raising the awareness of ways in which overseas organizations and individuals can play a part in helping China build upon the good social welfare foundations that already exist.

In acting as a bridge, ICC is able to channel medical equipment, personnel, rehabilitation equipment, training resources, clothing and finances to where they are most needed.

Building Upon China's Foundations
Working alongside the Chinese government, ICC aims to identify areas of social welfare which would benefit from greater development and investment. Through research and gradual mutual understanding, ICC has built a reputation with the Civil Affairs Bureau, which has led to the establishment of Oasis House--China's first Joint Venture rehabilitation, nursing and training centre for Handicapped Children. This relationship is also now opening the way for ICC to develop new projects such as Living Stones Village, and to further benefit the children in orphanages in China.

In developing a broader base of relationships with the Chinese provincial Civil Affairs Bureau and other government departments, ICC hopes to see projects such as the Oasis project and the proposed Nanning handicapped children's School repeated through the nation of China, thus building upon the existing social welfare system that China has already laid.

Working Together
In this time of greater cooperation in the international community there is a growing awareness that efforts to help the poorest sections of our society must look beyond our own National borders. Learning together and working together can enable projects such as the Oasis Project Joint Venture and Living Stones Village to have a successful, but culturally sensitive impact in these areas.
